Kanye West: "I Would Never Want a Book's Autograph"

So Kanye West has written a new book full of "Kanyeisms" and wants you to buy it, but apparently doesn't believe you should actually read it. That's a big relief, because only the threat of being burned at the stake would get me to do so. West has come out and described himself as "a proud non-reader of books," and has made the following statement about them.

“Sometimes people write novels and they just be so wordy and so self-absorbed,” West said. “I am not a fan of books. I would never want a book’s autograph."

That will be sad news to the hundreds of Kanye fans lining up to get his book's autograph. Is he sure he's not a reader? Self-aware books sounds like something out of a sci-fi novel, or maybe he recently watched "The Pagemaster."

He also stated that being a non-reader gave him an edge as a writer, since it provided him with a "child-like purity." Isn't that the same illness Michael Jackson claims to have?

What's interesting is that he chose to dedicate his little "book" to his late mother, who passed away due to complications after plastic surgery that he financed for her. Seeing as how she was a college English professor, I can't help but think of how ashamed she would be of him for dismissing literature so cavalierly. Fortunately, if I ever run into Mr. Kanye West, I can say this to his face without worrying about repercussions, since "cavalier" is one of those wordy words that self-absorbed people use, and he doesn't need to bother himself with understanding what it means.
